Abstract

Scholarship on the Latin American Aprista parties has privileged discursive approaches for a long time. However, those studies did not focus the interpersonal links between actors and parties. In the present work, I would show that those ties can be read as a transnational network and that produced collective action. Examining the networks in the light of their sociopolitical dimension, we explain the nature and the effects of transnational action. Using an approach rooted in historical sociology, this article wants to contribute to the explanation of the nature of this Aprista political family of the Latin American left.
