Abstract

Regional planning as within the Asturian Autonomic Community, the paper explains, has been undertaken through the setting up of norms as to the economic activities and uses proper to the region's resources these being framed within a series of Regional Norms and these in turn being broken down into SubRegional Norms governing the Coast, the Central Region the Eastern one the Western. These rulings are, in themselves, rounded out by a Plan as to Natural Resources which indicates those areas of the coast or interior that are to be seen as Natural Parks or Protected Zones. The paper continues by explaining how this process runs parallel to an updating of the overall plans of the region's various town administrations, this so that a common agreeement might then be reached as among all the different administrative levels with a hand to play in bringing the Region forward.
