Abstract

The article holds that to speak of urban change in Barcelona during the '80s calls for a detailing of a marked change both in planning itself and its interventions. Such a reappraisal gives rise to a broader considerations as to the present-days status of Overall/General plans and of cih' projects undertaken in the '80s. Here such thoughts lead on to an uncovering of those headings which will remain central to any discussion of major cities in this our period.
