Endemics, Epidemics and Fashions: the Sociology of Health in Latin America
Abstract
The article reviews the situation of the sociology of the health in Latin America. For that, it takes into account the sociological context in which this speciality is developing. After, analyzes its practices and discern between the sense of the research, the ways of inquire and the means to present the results. The article concludes supporting that in Latin America the sociology of health, as others sociological areas, has to be empiricist, eclectic and committed.Published
