About the Journal

 Focus and Scope

The Spanish Journal of Sociology (RES) is the official journal of the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES), the Spanish scientific society of Sociology that brings together more than 3,000 sociologists, including regional associations of Sociology, university departments and faculties, research institutes, research committees and business sector associations related to Sociology. The RES was founded in 2001. It has had as directors and members of the editorial board prestigious researchers of Spanish sociology. The journal is published in digital format. It includes monographic issues, debates, reviews and state-of-the-art sections. It is published four times a year. The languages used by the RES are Spanish and English.

The areas covered by the journal include all scientific aspects of special importance related to the sociological study of the current situation, the change of social structures and institutions and the processes that shape the social reality. The RES pays special attention to comparative studies on issues affecting Spain, Latin America and Southern European countries.

Peer Review Process

The RES publishes scientific work following the system of Peer Review in the evaluation of manuscripts under strict criteria of excellence and universal procedures.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps in a greater global exchange of knowledge.
