Abstract

This paper aims to outline an analysis of the evolution of constitutional doctrine on cooperation between the State and the Autonomous Communities, and between the latter and each other. To this end, it first analyzes the context in which this cooperation develops, understanding this as the principles that frame it: unity, autonomy, solidarity, and institutional loyalty, and its corollary, the duty of collaboration. It then briefly examines the formal and material features of the constitutional doctrine that has constructed the principles of collaboration and cooperation. This doctrine is specified in relation to the different organic and functional manifestations of these principles. It concludes by formulating some brief conclusions regarding the meaning and scope of constitutional doctrine in this area.
