Abstract

In the first part of this work, the initial positioning and subsequent development of the political thought of the young María Zambrano will be analyzed, as a representative case of the Generation of 1930, until the outbreak of the Civil War. It was time for the search for a personal and generational identity in dialogue with the teachers of the Generation of 1914. In the second part, however, Zambrano’s break with her teachers will be analyzed through the exegesis of her «Carta al Dr. Marañón», an emblematic text both of Zambrano’s political positioning during the war and of the personal and intellectual settling of scores that she was to carry out with her teachers.
