Municipal bans and the right of public demonstrations: Liability of the organisers

Abstract

The incidence of local ordinances in the freedoms of speech and demonstration rules is examined. More specifically, the doubtful constitutionality of some legal measures like the attribution of a kind of an objective and direct responsibility to the demonstrations’ promoters because of any offences or damages that could be produced during its holdings or the requirement of bails or insurance policies to cope with cleaning or repair expenses.
