Actions of the Spanish National Police Force on gender violence: Present and future perspective

Abstract

This novel article aims to analyze, from an eminently critical perspective, the last norms related to gender violence, as defined by the Integral Law 1/2004, established by the Secretary of State for Security (Spanish Home Office) directed, in this case, to the National Police Force. With the referred Norm they aim to get a higher efficacy in the risk assessment from the police point of view, increased safety and protection for the victims, and to reduce the amount of murders due to gender violence that, as is publicly known, have shown an alarming increase during the last weeks. We have also added the assessment of the Guideline for police actuation and gender violence, that incorporates gender perspective to police actuation.
