Abstract

Since May 2014, the General Secretariat of the Spanish Constitutional Court has been assigned the competences of an Equality Unit. Recently, in April 2024, the Constitutional Court published its I Equality Plan. By analysing both initiatives, this paper examines the extent to which gender equality has permeated the organizational or institutional culture of the highest interpreter of the Spanish Constitution, focusing on issues such as the composition of the body’s staff, staff training, the language and image of the Constitutional Court, initiatives on harassment, conciliation and co-responsibility, and the selection process for lawyers staff.
