Abstract

This paper aims to offer a panoramic view on the link between gender violence and the right to housing in a multilevel scenario. Specifically, this relationship is studied in the framework of three legal systems integrated within Spanish law: the universal system for the protection of human rights of the United Nations, the regional system of the Council of Europe and the legal system of the European Union. Finally, there is an exam of the measures adopted in the state regulatory system itself —both national and regional— to guarantee the right to housing of these women, both in terms of access to decent housing and in relation to their protection agains forced evictions.
