Abstract

This article describes and analyses the process of incorporating women into the National Police. This process is of significant importance within the framework of the fight for women’s equality, given that this is a particularly sensitive and relevant area: that of the Armed Forces (FAS) and State Security Forces and Corps (FCSE) and, in particular, that of the National Police. The article provides a description and analysis of a regulatory process for the incorporation of women, relating the main milestones that accompanied this evolution until formal equality was achieved. Finally, it analyses the shortcomings and proposals for improvement in order to achieve real and effective equality between women and men in the National Police today.
