Abstract

Starting out from the Select Commitee's report, the paper sets out to highlight its more structural and striking criteria and aims to then home in on three of its aspects of the greatest relevance to the grounding for those general principles on which the Commitee's final recommendations rest, these being:
- the new conditions for the administration of any town or country planning,
- its new models for urban development,
- its shift towards a new sort of urbanistic planning,
all these to the end of seeking a sound laying out of relevant problems and of putting political will, technical ways and all manner of material means to work on the task of physically so regulating and administratively so ordering any town or country planning that this would ever tend towards a guaranteeing of the interests of the community at large.
