Nature parks policy: an ambiguous tale

Abstract

The Nature Park Initiative is here analyzed and seen as being a means of conserving our natural resources from a territorial starting point. Previous to this conclusion, the scientific grounds for conservation as against a more theoretical ecology will have been gone over but in a very general way. The paper finishes by making a historical survey of this kind of endevour and gives voice to some critical reservations as to the advisability of applying the findings of a America based experience with National Parks to the problems inherant in a European and Spanish setting.
