Between 2016 and 2018, the Itinerant Tactical Urbanism Laboratories (LIUTS) were set up in Quito; 6 editions were held, of which the experience in the neighborhood "Lucha de los Pobres" is the one that best demonstrates how social transformations are related with spatial claims. Participation and recognition of the capacities of others are fundamental in the processes of spatial justice, giving back to its inhabitants the civic confidence to appropriate their territory. The academy is a necessary agent in the process, since it has commitments to society, and at the same time, it is capable of training professionals aware of the needs of their context and highlighting the social facets of the professions.
