Abstract

The paper measures human development by means of an indicator for the same that has been much used in works published by the PNUD. When attempting a measuring of a sustained social growth, to this indicator the authors have added another expressing the effect on the first of the environment, this being drawn from the amount of C02 each inhabitant has to live with. This new indicator is then set against the first and the Health, Education, Income and Contamination factors from which they were originally drawn. This is done for each and all the Spanish Autonomous Regions. The paper then compares the resulting analysis as for Spain with the international State of the Art.
