Abstract

The paper attempts to demonstrate the important role that the hydraulic production of electricity represents in the overall administering and using of water as a natural resource, to do this making much of the fact that the major part of the national capacity for controlling waters is dependant upon the works carried out to further such production. Further to this the particular characteristics of electricity itself as within the national energy sector are gone into and, germane to its theme, the part played here by hidro electricity is pointed up. Considering then the foreseeable development of electrical supply up to the year 2000, the paper concludes that the hydro-electric contribution to the same wil go being of marked importance.
