The Port the Territory and the City in maritime integrated management. The Bay of Cádiz case
Abstract
The paper outlines the relationship that has existed between port, territory and city in the recent years. The main planning and development resources used are taken into account and assessed. The Bay of Cádiz, a coastal zone where many maritime related activities converge, serves here as a geographical case in point to highlight the changes that have taken place in this respect. These changes can be seen in the possibilities for the integrating the Port Authorities (Docks and Harbour Boards) infrastructure with the environment, the City. other Public Administrations, etc. The new political and institutional framework. the recent legislative changes, the recession and new state functions call for a reconsidering of what as considered by the author as a new stage in port development, planning and mangement.
