The workings of the city and its effect upon territory
Abstract
The paper speaks of the logic behind the physical workings of present day population agglomerates and the way this is understood by such as live within them. Given that the vision of such human townships as within a given territory answers to the mental and institutional status quo of such a society, observations are here made as to the impact on them of that change in attitude brought about by the industrial revolution that gave rise to our present day 'conurbations', it being noted that the greater and more vile that the impact of this was on the territory and its ecological systems, then likewise as great was the loss of all capacity to either understand or control the same. In finishing, the paper argues that of late hints of an interest in the overall workings of such a system are to be met that might lead to its being recuperated and thus made more habitable.
