Abstract

The paper begins with a close study of the unavoidable epistemological snags inherant as within Town and Country Planning/Urbanism, these being born of the varying and complex proper studies as to planning, the city and the region that make this up along with its mixed focussed, interdisciplinary and undefined epistemological nature (theoretical? practical? technological?, all this here seen as constituting a limiting frame of reference for a field of study as yet young and markedly heterodox. This state of the question is here seen to call for a setting to work on the here to be-called disciplinary moments (theoric, practical, technical), this to the end of from thence offering a definition of the field that aims at embracing any of its different objects of study along with any other, coinciding disciplines and such moments proper to the discipline as might be drawn in its scope.
