Abstract

The Transport Network is here seen to be one of the prime underpinning ideas necessary to the creation of that economic, social and territorial integration that Europe has proposed to itself. Notwithstanding, the creation of the EEC did not see the development of a common infrastructures policy as to Transport, which has led to a certain backwardness in the drawing up of any common strategy here. The decision, mooted in recent years, to put under way a series of reforms as to this and which would lead to a strengthening of Europen Political Unity but underlines a call for a community policy in the field along with its relevant funding mechanisms. The matter has been noted in the Treaty for Europen Unity.
