OLYMPIC RHETORIC AND REGIONAL DYNAMISM: THE IMPACT ON INDUSTRY OF THE GREAT EVENT OF 1994

Abstract

The paper speaks of how the norwegian town of Lillehammer's being chosen to host the Winter Olympics has been seized by its local government as a means offorwarding the ends of a region hitherto facing a growing industrial crisis. The task, it is held, is by no means an easy one and the paper speaks of both a long and short term development that would be reflected within the industry, the tourism, services and the very habitat itself of the area.

With the aim of promoting the dissemination of knowledge, CyTET joins the Open Journal Access (OA) movement and delivers all of its content to various national and international indexes, repositories and databases under this protocol; therefore, the submission of a work to be published in the journal presupposes the explicit acceptance by the author of this distribution method.
