Abstract

The paper draws attention to the fact that eight thousand million dollars have been spent in the City of Barcelona's infrastructure in the name of the '92 Olympic Games and that of this, somewhat more than 2.5% has gone on the road network. It is felt here that such a vast outlay cannot but affect the territory's set up in a major way- be it as to its traffic, its businnes, its transport and even its urban configuration. The article touches upon such aspects as these and finds that the impact has been positive in most cases notwith standing some doubts as to the future consequences of what has happened. These in turn would seem to raise again discussion as to what manner of city would in fact be best saught after.
