Abstract

The paper deals with a subject often given but scant importance that is in fact central to any kind of planning, namely the access to, storing and transmission of the great bod y of documentary material required for and produced by the implementing proceedures and planning out of municipal land. The papere gives on overall picture of those new techniques in this field such as FAX, CD-ROM, Video Disks etc., here shown as having gradually lost their novelty value on this country thanks to having been eased into the normal working proceedures of the municipal and town and country planning worlds. After describing each and every one of the more important technological advances in t he documenting field. An appendix offering a six-base synthetized image is added to the paper, this thus allowing for a detailing of the techniques in question in such a way as to indicate their strengths and weaknesses.
