Abstract

El Pozo del Tío Raimundo, in Vallecas, was an area of marginal sub-suburban growth that came into being in the period bctwcn 1940-1956. The remodelling of the area was undertaken in 1976 and lasted till the summer of 1986. The fact that this initiative was subsidired, public, complex in both its typologica and working aspects made of it a something unique among the mass development of the last twenty-five years on the Madrid outskirts front.
