Research project on ground rents in metropolitan rural areas

Abstract

This article lays out the first conclusions of a research project whose objective was to create analysis methodologies for establis hing grounds rents, within the process of production and th e transformation of rural areas. The reference area is the ground of the metropolitan region of Madrid. where the features to be studied are demonstrated with more clarity and subject to extra- zone rent factors. Also, it has dealt with that contrast between the use of research sources and work methods which leads to a definiction of the role of the different factors and agents which are active in the making of ground rents and, more specifically those rents generated by a proximity to built up areas.
