Abstract

The hypothesis that fixed capital investment plays a major role in spatial reorganization processes, which are thus closely related to capital reproduction is put forward. It is argued that capital reproduction varies with socio-economic evolution and uses the comparative advantages of every regional community and that spatial processes vary in the same way. It is also argued that spatial reorganization and planning processes facilitate or establish inertias upon imperative socio-economic change. Lastly spatial reorganization and planning processes are classified as to their relation to the capital reproduction forms.
