Abstract

The Catalonian Regional Government (Generalitat) took steps towards the drawing up of a Master Plan for the Pyrennes area in order to solve some of the problems caused by the new skiing resorts. This Administration commisioned a study which was pushed forward during 1981 and 1982. One of the objetives of the study was to analyze exhaustively new skiing zones. This article includes both the conclusions drawn from this study and the guidiing principles to be used In the development of this important source of wealth.
