Abstract

The author maintains that poverty and illiteracy, warfare and conflicts over territory, trafficking in narcotics,
world scale delinquency and terrorism along with contamination and the degradation of the environment,
have turned into truly global problems of immense relevance for Humanity and that they call ever
and again the more urgently for an active participation on the part of all nations and every international
organization towards the achieving of a truly global and shared planning as to our common geographical space.
To urge this, the paper delineates and seeks to analyse in depth the nature, magnitude and spatial dimensions
of these great geopolitical and geoeconomical problems which so affect and endanger the stability
and equilibrium of the present day world, giving as they do rise to much tension and abiding territorial imbalances.
