Assesment of the Health Reform, a Necessary Bases for Future Reforms

Abstract

The assessment of the reforms in health undertaken in recent years is a necessary task in order to establish reform measures atmed at improving thc efficiency of the National Health System. This paper analyses the reform of Public Health Care in Spain during the period 1983-l990. A methodological and conceptual framework is created for study, in an attempt to relate the directives behind thc measures with the achievement of the final goals. Sorne conclusions are drawn from thc assessment with a view to future reforms.
