Abstract

This article justifies a constitutional model of neutral laicite in religious matters. Foremost, it presents and illustrate the alternative models of positive and militant laicite. Subsequently, it inquires the philosophical reasons that allow to defend liberal neutrality as a type of anti-perfectionism. Finally, it concludes that the liberal and strict neutrality in religious matters leads to a neutral model of secularism constitutional guarantees wide freedom in conditions of equality for all religious beliefs.
