Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyse a new and unexplored field of development on judicial cooperation in criminal matters in the EU post-Lisbon, as it is the political and legal framework of the protection of the victims, and especially those who have suffered from gender violence. In addition, it tries to confront the validity of the current legal debate about the implementation of the European Area of Freedom, Security and Justice with practice, using as a case-test the different normative proposals advanced on the matter, in particular the Directive for the Adoption of the European Protection Order.
