Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the organic instruments of judicial cooperation created in the field of European Union with the purpose of contributing to the area of freedom, security and justice. In that respect, the figures of the Liaison Magistrates, the European Judicial Network provided in criminal matters as well as in civil and commercial matters, and Eurojust are discussed. Similarly, we have gone more deeply into the European public prosecutor’s office, which is expected in the Treaty of Lisbon with an initial jurisdiction focused on the persecution of the illicit affecting financial interests of the EU, but with the possibility of being expanded to other cases of serious cross-border crime.
