Abstract

The so called «ultraperipheral regions» of the European Union are characterized for having a special juridical statute consisting of a modulation or adaptation of the current common policies in the generality of the Community territory. In Spain, the Canary Islands have this condition. This present piece of work analyzes the specialities of this ultraperipheral region in relation to one of the most traditional and consolidated common policies: the common agricultural policy. Furthermore, the consequences that such specialities lead to the subject of the distribution of competences between The State and The Autonomous Region, which is also an ultraperipheral region, are analyzed.
