Abstract

Once heritage is conceived as a moving concept when analyzed from the social practices perspective, the aim of this paper is to evidence how during 19th century, despite the liberal bourgeois command, social reproduction mechanisms belonging to the Ancient Regime were still being carried out, adapted to a new context, perpetuating inequalities, establishing differences and defining social and personal position of families and individuals. For that purpose, heritage practices and power groups strategies around accumulating, managing and transmitting wealth and properties beyond the legal framework are analized.
