Micromorphological observations from Cueva del Ángel site (Lucena, Córdoba): preliminary results

Soil micromorphology is applied to a selection of samples from the endokarstic deposit of the archaeological site of the Middle Pleistocene (MIS 9-MIS 7) of Cueva del Ángel, Lucena (Córdoba), with the purpose of obtaining a first approximation to its depositional characterization, as well as to expand information about its postdepositional evolution and the anthropic influence on it. The deposit responds to detrital sedimentation as a result mainly of alluvium and runoff processes, while postdepositional processes are dominated by diagenetic processes and bioturbation. In addition to these geogenic processes, an important affectation of the sediment by anthropogenic processes is also verified from the micromorphological point of view.
