Abstract

Study area is located in the southwestern of de Buenos Aires province, Argentina. Flash floods and slope processes that occur in this zone are caused by intense low frequency rains. Spatial planning is just beginning and support documentation for decision-making is insufficient. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the geomorphological characteristics and analyze the slope processes that are generated in the upper basin of the Sauce Grande river. A geomorphological map was developed. 17 topographic profiles were analyzed for morphometric and physiographic characterization. Relationships with active processes and slope dynamics were proposed. The first results showed that the landslides, debris flows and rock falls are associated with the Ventania System outcrops. Creeping and rill erosion are related to climatic-conditioned forms.
