Abstract

The goal of this paper is the technological, geomorphological and chronological study of a Middle Paleolithic site on a fluvial terrace on the river Hijar, a tributary of the River Ebro in the valley of Campoo de Suso, Cantabria (North of Spain). The terrace on wich the site is situated is the oldest in the area. Chronogically it is previous to the maximum glacial phase and the industry shares characteristics with two classic Plaleolithic worlds, the Acheulian and the Mousterian wich would justify naming it “Epiacheulian.”
