Soils and environmental reconstruction of the Sierra de Andújar (Eastern Sierra Morena region, Jaén, Spain)

Abstract

An environmental analysis of nine soil profiles in the eastern Sierra Morena region is carried out. Three of them present caolinitic and subtropical characteristics, four profiles are typical cuaternary mediterranean red soils and other two have a holocene formations.The geomorphological, ecological and vegetational changes evolution of the area are relationed with the morphological and physico-chemical characteristics of this soil profiles.
