Abstract

We define eigth geomorphic units in the region of Vegas Bajas del Guadiana. Two of this geomorphic units are specially interesting to understand the evolution of landforms: the planation surfaces S3 an S4. S3 is an sediplain related to the last sedimentation processes in the Tertiary. It is a relictic form, very poorly preserved in some parts of the area. The erosion surfaces S4 cuts S3 and is cut by the Quaternary drainage network. In addition S4 cuts several sedimentary units leading to the exhumation of surface S2 (the sedimentary discontinuity between units ULD2 and ULD3).
