Focus and scope

Cuaternario y Geomorfología includes original research works about any of the pure or applied fields of Quaternary and Geomorphology, which have been selected by the editors after review and advice by the Editorial Board and anonymous specialists. AEQUA and SEG are not responsible for the opinions expressed by the authors in the published articles. Intellectual property rights give the author the full disposal and exploitation of the work created, in accordance with the laws in force. The journal is distributed among the nearly 600 members in AEQUA and SEG, as well as in the libraries of the Departments of Geology, Geodynamics, Geography, and Earth Sciences of Spanish universities. This distribution ensures the authors an important national coverage of the works published here.
 

Peer review process

All manuscripts that enter the review phase, except for prefaces, are subject to peer review. Each paper will be reviewed by at least two specialists the field selected by the Editors-in-Chief. The editors reserve the right to publish or not to publish the article according to the comments and suggestions made by the reviewers. Authors may suggest the name of two potential reviewers who can judge their article objectively. The final reviewers will be at least two. Of these, at least one will be selected from among the members of the Editorial Board, and only one of the potential reviewers suggested by the authors will be taken into account. 

Open access and reuse policy

This journal provides free and immediate access to its content and allows its inclusion in non-profit repositories. The authors' rights of reproduction and reuse are licensed under the Creative Commons 3.0 license. This implies that the material can be shared and / or adapted to any medium and for any purpose as long as credit is given appropriately, providing a link and indicating if modifications have been made.

Codes of ethics for publication

The journal Cuaternario y Geomorfología adheres to the standards and codes of ethics established by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC -  the Spanish National Research Council). This journal had adopted the Code of Good Scientific Practices approved by the CSIC in March of 2010. Consequently, the articles accepted in Cuaternario y Geomorfología must comply with the ethical principles and criteria of this Code of Ethics (avaliable in English and Spanish at the following website: http://www.csic.es/web/guest/etica-en-la-investigacion).

Plagiarism detection

The journal Cuaternario y Geomorfología is particularly sensitive to plagiarism in the scientific field. In order to avoid any kind of malpractice in this area, reviewers are asked in the standard review forms about this issue and the Editors-in-Chief are particularly vigilant.
