Political Union of South America

Abstract

The countries of South America have lost 200 years of dissension and fighting dating back to the time of our independence from Spain, without realizing that the only way to gain international presence and gravity is for us to unite not only with ephemeral economic ties but in one political unit: the United States of South America.
This paper begins by noting the factors that unite us, the obstacles that the political union must overcome, the advantages it would mean for our continent and our people. It concludes indicating the essential basis that should preside over a joint project of our states. We know that the path to unity is long and difficult, and because of that we need to start.
