Agricultura ecológica y de proximidad como herramienta para el desarrollo rural: el ejemplo de San Sebastián
Abstract
Los sistemas agroecológicos fundamentados en circuitos de proximidad se configuran como alternativa al sistema agroindustrial imperante. Se concretan en diferentes iniciativas, todavía incipientes, pero en continuo desarrollo y con cada vez un mayor número de agricultores y consumidores implicados. Estas iniciativas suscitan el interés de administraciones locales, sectoriales y de agencias de desarrollo, como ocurre en la comarca de San Sebastián, donde deciden impulsar un proyecto que las promocione.
Su presencia en la zona en estudio es simbólica y el desinterés de los agricultores tradicionales evidente. Se opta por impulsar nuevas iniciativas con agricultores de origen urbano, a los que se les dota de tierra, formación e incluso se les ayuda a abrir nuevos canales de comercialización. Los resultados avalan la trayectoria de un proyecto que necesita ahora de continuidad.
