¿Dónde comienza la (in)sostenibilidad social de un enclave agrícola de producción de uva de mesa en Sonora, México?
Abstract
El objetivo del artículo es analizar si la conformación y consolidación de un enclave de producción de uva de mesa de exportación en Sonora –al noroeste de México-, que depende de decenas de miles de trabajadores temporales, en su mayoría migrantes, ha generado un mayor desarrollo económico y socialmente sostenible, tanto en el lugar donde se encuentra implantado como en las regiones de origen de esos trabajadores. Con base en datos de la Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social y de información recabada en campo, se da cuenta de los desequilibrios sociales, económicos y demográficos que causa la operación de dicho enclave productivo, así como de la precaria situación laboral y de vida de miles de trabajadores en sus lugares de origen.
