Tecnología y diseño para el desarrollo rural: propuesta metodológica y prueba de concepto en dos municipios colombianos
Abstract
Se presenta una propuesta metodológica para la definición de proyectos de desarrollo rural a partir del diseño industrial y la innovación tecnológica. El enfoque parte del protagonismo de la propia comunidad, sus valores e intereses, así como sus conocimientos técnicos, en un proceso donde los agentes externos actúen como meros catalizadores de una transformación endógena y sostenible. Tras el marco teórico y la metodología, se describe una experiencia piloto desarrollada en dos municipios de Colombia, donde se ha conseguido desarrollar una dinámica de colaboración con un grupo de artesanos locales, definiendo nuevos modelos de negocio y diseñando productos destinados al mejoramiento del hábitat rural, poniéndose en marcha un proceso autónomo que ya no depende de la intervención externa para su continuidad. Este enfoque no pretende sustituir sino complementar los programas convencionales de desarrollo rural, utilizando el diseño como instrumento para identificar y dinamizar las oportunidades y potencialidades presentes en el ámbito rural.
