About the Journal

Focus and scope

AGER Journal of Depopulation and Rural Development Studies is a multidisciplinary social science journal on issues related to depopulation and depopulation, but also to rural and territorial development. Papers may refer to empirical, theoretical or methodological aspects. You can read more about the magazine on our dedicated website: https://ruralager.org

Peer review process

AGER implements a doubly anonymous external review system, in which neither the identity of the author nor that of the reviewers is revealed. Each paper received is evaluated by at least two peer reviewers. The evaluators' reports serve as a basis for the Editorial Committee to take a decision, which will be communicated to the author within a maximum period of six months from the receipt of the original. Where appropriate, the acceptance of a paper may be conditional on the introduction of modifications suggested by the reviewers. To find out more, you can consult the process followed by the articles from their reception to their evaluation and editorial decisions.

Frequency of publication

Since 2011 AGER (e-ISSN: 2340-4655) is indexed in ESCI (Clarivate), ERIH Plus, Scopus and SCImago Journal Rank (SJR). AGER has been awarded the FECYT Quality Seal in all evaluations since 2011. In addition, AGER publishes two issues per year (always with DOI), in open access, although the publication of accepted texts is continuous, appearing directly on the web once edited and formatted.
