Abstract

This article analyses from the point of view of the History the consequences stemming from the crisis of the European integration process on the narratives of the European project. for several generations has usually portrayed to the construction of Europe as an unprecedented success story. However, this European story —described as a «christmas story»— today is considered exhausted and some of its main items seem to be diluted in the European memory. as a result, there is an idea of the European  project or what it is. the process of integration and the very idea of Europe, which claims to represent if they want to survive need urgently a new story however its construction is complex from the point of view of the historian.
