La sustitución interliteraria o préstamo literario extranjero como recurso traductológico. De cómo el traductor puede relacionar la prosa española con la poesía francesa

Resumen

Bien sabido es que la traducción literaria, además de ser el paso de una lengua a otra, es el paso de una cultura a otra, y más aun, el de una tradición literaria a otra. En estas líneas, queremos mostrar que si la traducción obedece a unas servidumbres lingüísticas, lo que hace de ella una actividad científica, también (mediante la cultura literaria del traductor y gracias a sus dotes estilísticos) responde a opciones interpretativas personales que hacen de ella una actividad artística. Nuestra versión francesa de unos extractos de la novelística española moderna permitirá ver con mayor nitidez en qué medida un préstamo poético sacado de la cultura literaria de llegada (la francesa en nuestro caso) puede representar un recurso traductológico de interés. Dichos ejemplos mostrarán finalmente cómo al traductor se le da en ciertas ocasiones la posibilidad de relacionar la prosa española con la poesía francesa, por razones a la vez éticas y estéticas. About the best way for the translator to couple the Spanish prose together with the French poetry Daniel LÉVÊQUE It is of common knowledge that literary translation, more than the transposition of a language into another one is the transposition of a culture into another one and, even more, that of a literary tradition into another one. We mean to show here that if translating is subject to linguistic constraints which make it a scientific activity, it is connected in other respects (by the involvement of the literary culture of the translator and the acuteness of its pen) with own interpretative options that make it an artistic activity. Our French version of a few excerpts from modern Spanish novels will enable to ascertain more clearly how a poetic borrowing drawn out of the target literary culture (in the circumstances, the French one) can represent a first-rate traductological resort. The examples in question will finally show how the translator may be led to couple the Spanish prose together with the French poetry, for both ethical and aesthetic reasons.
