Abstract

In a sector as competitive as manufacturing by machining it is essential to have under control all the phases and agents that have influence in the final part. One of the agents is precisely the cutting tools. In traditional production centers manufacturing methods aren’t usually cross-sectional and consensual for the entire production plant. In order to achieve comprehensive tool management, it is necessary to establish standardized manufacturing methods. In the work carried out, tool references have been reduced to those tools that have been decided in the standardization. After establishing the rules, a digital platform database of the existing elements in the inventory has been created. Tool management has been centralized in this tool management system. This tool manager in turn is connected to other systems such as CAD / CAM systems, process simulators, presetting machines and production machines. In this way, centralized tool management is achieved from the beginning to the end, with the information in digital format. Finally, with the work done, there has been an increase in security in the productive media.
