Abstract

In the manufacturing industry it is common to find work activities where workers are subjected to excessively repetitive movements, being this one of the risk factors most commonly linked to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). Lack of "recovery periods" increases muscle fatigue and therefore increases the likelihood of workers suffering from MSD (Colombini et al. 2002). Various ergonomic assessment methods are currently used to determine the level of risk to which workers are exposed when performing repetitive movements. In this proposal, the OCRA (Occupational Repetitive Actions) method has been chosen (Colombini et al., 2002). The OCRA method is included in the UNE-EN 1005-5:2007 and ISO 11228-3:2007 standards.
